Proposed Local Amendment Number One (1)
Relating to Montgomery County, proposing an amendment to Amendment No. 551 to
the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to increase the limit to five mills per
year on a special ad valorem tax for fire protection and emergency medical
services in the unincorporated areas of Montgomery County which may be levied by
the Montgomery County Commission. (Proposed by

Relating to Montgomery County, proposing an amendment to the Constitution of
Alabama of 1901, to allow the governing bodies of the incorporated
municipalities in Montgomery County, with the exception of the City of
Montgomery, to levy up to a certain amount of ad valorem taxes to finance fire
protection and emergency medical services; and to allow the Legislature, by
local law to provide for the administration, collection, and allocation of any
revenues from ad valorem taxes levied pursuant to this amendment and consistent
